Job Description

The Senior Accountant will be a key position on the team and will report directly to the CFO, with room for professional growth. VERITY is a fast growing business that requires constant reevaluation of processes to optimize performance. This is a hands on position that will be instrumental to all aspects of accounting processes and financial reporting.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Support the preparation of month-end, quarter-end, and year-end financial statements in accordance with GAAP.

  • Reconcile detail ledgers such as inventory, deferred revenue, fixed assets and sub-ledgers to the general ledger and supporting documents. Investigate and resolve discrepancies.

  • Perform or manage accounts receivable and accounts payable functions. It is anticipated that this person will grow into overseeing such functions as volume increases.

  • Review and analyze financial data and create financial status reports based on the analysis.

  • Recognize trends and shifts, investigate causes, and advise on appropriate action.

  • Analyze revenues and expenses to ensure transactions are recorded appropriately.

  • Analyze budget vs actual variances.

  • Create timely and accurate accounting reports for company executives and senior management.

  • Assist CFO with special reports/ad hoc projects/impromptu requests from leadership.

  • Support accounting workflows and internal control processes. Advise on changes to help optimize the Company's accounting systems and procedures.

  • Support financial audits, tax returns, and sales tax returns.


Required Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance/Business Administration or related field.

  • Minimum 3 years experience working in a Senior Accountant or similar position.

  • Full accounting cycle experience.

  • Demonstrated experience in Manufacturing Accounting.

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and Google Suite.

  • Strong knowledge of accounting (GAAP) theory and practice.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Self-starter with ability to effectively work independently and in a team.

  • Good communication skills.

  • Must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.
