Job Description

The Contract Manufacturing Manager position will report directly into the VP of Manufacturing, with room for professional growth and advancement. VERITY is a quickly growing business that requires constant reevaluation of processes to optimize performance of contract manufacturers and team. This individual will be instrumental in building supplier relations processes and growing the Manufacturing Department.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify and qualify new suppliers and contract manufacturers (CMs) in the Americas with a focus on Mexico

  • Help develop the most efficient manufacturing processes for Verity’s products by using your own expertise to develop and recommend solutions as necessary.

  • Create Processes and Oversee Manufacturing Engineers who will:

  • Overseeing CMs’ tool productivity, maintenance, and yields

  • Periodically tracking and reporting CMs’ KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)

  • Conducting data analysis and time studies at CMs’

  • Scheduling tests and measurements throughout the production process to determine control over variables such as dimensions, forces, fit and function, and finishes

  • Work with suppliers and CMs on cost reduction strategies, including the identification of value engineering opportunities

  • Develop quality procedures and process to assure product quality and CM readiness

  • Lead technical reviews to achieve CM manufacturing feasibility, on time sourcing, tooling construction start, and other key supply deliverables

  • Track and communicate metrics related to supplier performance to all levels of the organization

  • Review and maintain capacity planning information for assigned suppliers

  • Organize routine supplier/CM assessments and audits to maintain current information

  • Maintain and analyze key cost drivers for the organization

  • Oversee long-term relationship with suppliers/CMs to identify growth opportunities

  • Maintain supplier contracts and legal documents

Requirements:

  • Fluency in Spanish & English

  • Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering field or equivalent

  • Technical expertise in metal manufacturing equipment and processes, such as stamping, deep drawing, ironing, annealing, machining, impact extrusion, polishing, laser etching, embossing, plating

  • Strong knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, filtering/sorting)

  • Strong technical and analytical skills with exceptional attention to detail

  • Ability to interpret technical drawings and tolerances

  • Knowledge and experience in AQL methodology

  • Leadership and management skills, including the ability to organize and manage projects, multiple priorities, and local/remote personnel

  • Strong relationship building skills

  • Emotional intelligence

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally (estimated minimum of 30%)

Extra consideration will be given to candidates with:

  • Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)

  • Knowledge and experience in

  • Finishing techniques

  • World Class Manufacturing or Lean Manufacturing methodologies

  • Measuring tools and testing equipment (calipers, micrometers, gauges, microscopes, dynamometers)

  • A background in the packaging industry
