WHO YOU ARE

You are the first impression and face of Verity to current and future customers. Your optimism, transparency, and desire to continuously improve are at the core of how you operate in business. You are an organized overachiever that enjoys establishing relationships and solving problems.

You are a successful sales and business development professional, focused on results and creating solutions to convert leads into sales. You are able to leverage industry contacts and cultivate new and long-term partnerships with major clients, functioning as the project lead in customer-facing business. You actively seek and identify fresh opportunities to grow our business and network. You manage our existing sales pipeline of cutting-edge, progressive companies and lead them to a more sustainable future.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Source and prioritize new business opportunities by scouting the industry and related events, including cold calling, networking, and outreach to potential customers.

  • Promote Verity’s products and solutions to help businesses offer renewable/recyclable packaging for existing or new product lines.

  • Establish new business (B2B) orders that align with Verity’s mission and goals.

  • Lead prospect and new customer calls, guiding businesses to the appropriate packaging.

  • Create and deliver new business proposal presentations with mutually beneficial solutions.

  • Develop and nurture existing customer relationships to ensure recurring business.

  • Keep CRM up-to-date with client information and correspondence records

  • Work closely with Project Management to keep projects and schedules running on time

  • Recommend internal and external process improvements to increase the sales cycle pace and efficiency

  • Deliver product feedback to management, marketing, and R&D

  • Conduct research to identify new markets and customer needs.

  • Stay up-to-date on sustainability trends and news

WHAT YOU HAVE

  • BA/BS Degree or similar college level education

  • At least 4 years of experience as a successful Sales/Business Development professional, with a proven track record of achieving or exceeding goals

  • Passion for the environment and sustainability

  • An optimistic attitude and commitment to authenticity, transparency, and continuous improvement

  • Ability to work both collaboratively and independently

  • Business experience in a small company

  • Strong technical aptitude to understand mechanisms of beauty and personal care components

  • Ability to effectively research and solve problems

  • Strong time management and organizational skills

  • Highly-effective negotiation skills

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Close attention to detail

  • Enjoys thinking both strategically and tactically

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Experience working in Hubspot (a plus)
